Never Enough Burton-Depp

I'm going to keep this brief, three or four sentences at the most because I'm supposed to be doing math. Anyway, while I am still super-excited about Tim Burton taking on Alice in Wonderland and casting Johnny Depp as the Mad-Hatter, there is some news that I am even more excited about. That is the mere possibility that Burton and Depp will be teaming up for Dark Shadows. Johnny has always said he wanted to be Barnabas, and I can get behind that.

Another Reason It's Bad to Mumble

This is the gist of a real conversation I had while walking to Family Home Evening.

Guy from church: So, do most NYU students stay in the dorms?
Me: Well, yeah, mostly. Some get their own apartments, a few even get married.
Me, mumbling: But mostly it's university housing or an apartment...
Me, in less of a mumble: That's my plan, anyway.
Guy from church: To get married?

Oh, gosh. That's a good reason not to mumble.

(On a personal note, the exchange was even more distressing for me because it came only days after my sister told me I am of "marrying age." Eek.)

Feel the 'Burn'

Okay, so, last night I saw Burn After Reading. I love, love, love the Coen brothers. But, I have to say, Burn was not my favorite Coen brothers film by far. It had classic Coen brothers moments, and I laughed quite a bit, but the film lacked where some of their other films were at their peak. I would write more, but - since it only came out yesterday - I'm afraid I would give too much away. Basically, if you love the Coen brothers you'll like this one. And, if you don't love the Coen brothers, don't see it.

Random Thought of the Day #7

Tomorrow is going to be a great day! My brother will be in town -- Yay! And, Burn After Reading hits theaters. I'm so excited I could pee my pants. But I won't.
