Random Thought of the Day #57

I would rather watch a video of Rick Astley than a lot of the other dangers lurking out there on the interweb.

I mean, think about, would you rather:
A. Have pictures of 'nekkid' people pop up on your screen all the time.
B. A virus.
C. Watch Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" video.
D. Not watch Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" video.

The obvious choice is C.

Unless D means you get to watch this instead.

Anyway, the point is Arielle thinks there may be something to this whole "You've been Rick Rolled" thing after all.

Sometimes I realize I'm not 15 anymore. And smile.

I got an e-mail from "The Xanga Team" today:  "Hey iwatchmoviesthatrock - Are you keeping your site?"  Am I what?  Oh, that.

When I was fifteen, Xangas were all the rage among sophomores at Bethel High School.  (Nice, huh?  Yeah, right.)  Anyway, all my friends had one so I made one.  Actually, I made two.  The first one was just the lunatic rantings of me at fifteen - Yay!  Eventually I got the smart idea to make a second one, which would include the lunatic rantings of me at fifteen but with a twist:  I would rant about movies!  I made two posts in five days and haven't been back since.  Until now.

It's ironic, really, considering the only movie review - Remember, now, according to my old blog, my interests and expertise are "reviewing movies for you." - on there is about Batman Begins and The Dark Knight is about to hit screens.  The review goes something like this:

"Batman Begins, starring the extremely handsome Christian Bale, is the story of how Batman came to be.  This darker look at the Caped Crusader is closer to the comic book, but far from the Zams!, Pows!, and Gee Willikers! of yester-years.  It explains a lot, but doesn't answer every question.  Overall, it is a great flick.  And, Michael Caine is the perfect Alfred.  A five star movie all the way!"

Generally, I like it.  My favorite part is when I pretend to know anything about the comic book.  Also, I like how I basically reiterated everything I heard on Ebert & Roeper, but took away their personalities and intelligence.

(I'd like to think that any review I would write today would be at least 1.5 times better.  Idea:  I write a review of The Dark Knight in a few weeks and we see if it's any better, mmmkay?  Good, that's settled.)

In conclusion:

Hey "The Xanga Team" -
You are more than welcome to delete my account.
And, of course I don't remember my password.

Random Thought of the Day #121

There are plenty of attractive men in the world.  But not all of them are worth beans, let alone their weight in gold.
